Bryans Lift 88th Team Title in Rome
Bob and Mike Bryan ontinued their fine run of season on Sunday by capturing their 88th team title, sixth
of 2013 and 24th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 crown.
The top-seeded American twins defeated sixth-seeded Indians Mehesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna 6-2, 6-3 to lift
their third title at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome. The final lasted 52 minutes. The Bryans received €155,400
in prize money and earned 1,000 Emirates ATP Rankings points.
"We knew we needed to play very well to win this match and I thought we put in a very strong performance," said
Bob Bryan. "We're obviously very pleased with the way the last couple weeks have gone and are hoping to carry
this momentum into Paris."
The Bryans lost just four of their service points in the 24-minute opening set, when they converted two of their four break
point opportunities. They lost five points on serve in the second set, breaking in the eighth game, to improve to a
34-6 record on the season. They are 24-17 overall in ATP World Tour Masters 1000 finals.
"It's great to see Hesh and Bops playing together again especially after their strong finish last season," said Bob Bryan. "They're great for doubles and we know we'll be playing the Indian Express again in big matches this year."
