As the 2024 Paris Olympic Games are just around the corner, here is all you need to know about Bob Bryan's U.S. Olympic team!
In addition to his Davis Cup captain responsibilities, Bob was appointed captain of Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics, with his brother Mike serving as assistant coach. With a blend of youthful talent and seasoned experience, Team USA has an opportunity to challenge the world's best. The Bryan Bros., who boast a combined total of five Olympic medals, bring invaluable leadership and expertise to guide the team towards the Gold.
Team USA includes Olympic veterans Rajeev Ram, Marcos Giron, Austin Krajicek, and Tommy Paul alongside first-time Olympians Taylor Fritz and Chris Eubanks.
Rajeev Ram, who earned a Silver medal in the 2016 Olympics competing with Venus Williams in mixed doubles, returns focused on capturing Gold in doubles.
In his third consecutive Olympic appearance, Ram will be paired with Austin Krajicek who fell just short in the Bronze medal men's doubles match in the 2020 Olympics.
Taylor Fritz, who is currently ranked ATP world #11, joins the team as a confident first-time Olympian following his most recent impressive performance at Wimbledon, where he staged a remarkable three-set comeback victory over 2020 Gold medalist Alexander Zverev, who will be competing in Paris to defend his title. As he strives for the Gold in singles, he will also be paired with Tommy Paul in doubles. Two time Olympian and #13 world ranked player Tommy Paul will be competing in the singles event as well.
Completing the US men's roster are Chris Eubanks and Marcos Giron. Eubanks, the tall, powerful righty, looks to demonstrate his talents in singles. Giron, who is ranked ATP world #46, will also be competing in the singles draw.
The upcoming Olympics promise thrilling competition with top-tier players including Carlos Alcaraz, the 2024 Wimbledon champion and Olympic favorite, teaming up with Rafael Nadal for Spain. The field includes other formidable opponents such as Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and two-time Gold medalist Andy Murray, ensuring a fiercely competitive tournament.
Five tennis events including men's and women's singles and doubles and mixed doubles will feature 184 players representing 41 different nations.
First round matches will kick off on July 27 with the Gold medal matches scheduled August 3-4.
