Bob Bryan and Team USA Rev Up for the 2024 Davis Cup Season

Bob Bryan and Team USA Rev Up for the 2024 Davis Cup Season

The Davis Cup season is rapidly approaching, and Team USA Captain Bob Bryan is eager to get the ball rolling. In his first full year at the helm, Bob's goal is to bring the United States back to the top of the sport as they begin their quest for a record-extending 33rd Davis Cup crown.

The U.S. will open play in the Davis Cup qualifying round against Ukraine on February 1-2 in an “away” tie at the SEB Arena in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Mike Bryan, who assumed the role of doubles coach during Bob's inaugural season, will resume his position for the tie.

The Lineup

Bob has announced the U.S. Davis Cup roster, selecting the following players:

Christopher Eubanks- The former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket had a breakout 2023 season, making the quarterfinals of Wimbledon and earning a career-high ATP ranking of world #29.

Taylor Fritz- America's #1 player earned a career-high ranking of world #5 and has won seven ATP titles, including the 2022 BNP Paribas Open.

Sebastian Korda- The current ATP world #33 had a phenomenal quarterfinal run at the 2023 Australian Open.

Austin Krajicek- The current ATP doubles world #3 captured his first Grand Slam title at the 2023 French Open.

Rajeev Ram- A four-time doubles Grand Slam champion and current doubles world #5, his 2023 resume includes a US Open doubles crown and an ATP World Tour Finals doubles title.

What's at Stake

This first-time meeting between the 11th-seeded U.S. and Ukraine will determine who advances to the 2024 Davis Cup Finals this fall.

If victorious, the United States will become one of 16 nations that will compete in the Davis Cup Final Group Stage for a chance to qualify for the Final 8, which will take place in Malaga, Spain from November 19-24.

Team USA has not reached a Davis Cup Final since 2007 when the Bryan Brothers handed the USA its 32nd title with a dominant win over Russia's Igor Andreev and Nikolay Davydenko.

Bob's recent tenure as Captain has already brought success to the US as the team defeated Croatia for the first time in six attempts in the 2023 Davis Cup Finals Group Stage.
