The doubles experience and strategy of Team USA Captain Bob Bryan and assistant Coach Mike Bryan doubles paid dividends at the Paris Olympics with two American pairs clinching podium spots.
Team USA doubles experts Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram battled fiercely in the Gold medal match against the Australian team of Matthew Ebden and John Peers. The match was a roller coaster stretching across three intense sets, The first two sets went to tiebreakers with the final set played as a 10-point super tiebreak that ended with a nail-biting score of 10-8. The American duo, however, came away with the Silver medal. Although falling short of the Gold, their performance was stellar, and the Silver was well-earned after five challenging matches including the final.
Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul's victory for the Americans to claim the Bronze medal over Czech duo Tomas Machac and Adam Pavlasek was a dominant 6-3, 6-4 win. This was an impressive performance from Paul and Fritz, who are both singles specialists. The duo, who both also competed in singles, came together to win four matches to capture the Bronze medal.
