Micaela Serves Up Next Generation of Bryan Musicians

Micaela Serves Up Next Generation of Bryan Musicians

While Bob and Mike Bryan are celebrated as the most accomplished men's doubles pairing in tennis history, they also share a deep passion for music, often spending countless hours jamming and creating in the recording studio as well as performing around the world.

In a conversation with ATP Podcast reporter Jill Craybas, Mike revealed that he and Bob have continued to refine their musical talents after retiring from professional tennis.

I mean, music's awesome. I'm the guitar player, Bob's on the keyboard. We played a lot on the road when we were traveling. Now that we have more time, I get up pretty early before the kids are up, and I'm always strumming the chords and learning some scales," Mike shared.

Mike also addressed the exceptional musical talents of his niece Micaela noting that she has demonstrated a natural aptitude for music and that her dedication has only grown stronger over time. He believes she could be the lead singer for their band in the coming years.

"Now that Bob's daughter is actually a good enough singer, she's kind of a front in our band. She is just 11 years old, but has been taking lessons for 4-5 years now," Mike said. "She's amazing. She doesn't know how to miss a note. She's that good. Micaela sang the national anthem at the US Open for the women's singles final, and she killed it. So I think maybe she's the future of the Bryan Bros. Band," exuded Mike.

The Bryan Bros. Band released their first album "Let It Rip" during the 2009 US Open. Frequent "guest" drummer for the Bryan Bros. Band is Counting Crows' internationally recognized star Jim Bogios.
